Stephen Gallagher (co-founder - composer)
Stephen Gallagher is a composer and an Emmy Award-winning music editor with over two decades of experience in the industry.
Throughout his career, Stephen has collaborated on an impressive array of projects, from global blockbusters with industry legends like Peter Jackson, Brian Eno, Ed Sheeran, Nick Cave, and Junkie XL, to Emmy-winning television productions, independent documentaries, and contemporary theater and dance. He describes his passion as “making sounds and worlds out of sound.”
Renowned for his deep understanding of film scoring, Stephen crafts music that resonates with the heart of each story, seamlessly blending sound and emotion to create the perfect soundtrack. He recently composed the score to Kenji Kamiyama’s epic anime film The Lord Of The Rings: The War Of The Rohirrim. Previously his Middle-earth composing experiences were writing the iconic songs “Blunt The Knives” and “The Torture Song” for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
Mark Willsher (co-founder - producer/engineer)
Renowned for his work alongside Peter Jackson and Howard Shore on The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Mark Willsher moves seamlessly between roles as producer, sound engineer, mixer, and supervising music editor. His expertise spans a wide range of genres, from film to classical, folk, and hip-hop. Recent projects include Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim by New Line Cinema (Composer: Stephen Gallagher), Netflix’s animated feature Ultraman Rising (Composer: Scot Stafford), and the San Francisco Symphony’s recording of Adriana Mater by Kaija Saariaho (Music Director: Esa-Pekka Salonen), which earned him a Grammy® Award for Best Opera Recording as mixing engineer.
With a background in music performance and a deep understanding of all technical aspects of the recording process, Mark’s guiding philosophy is to create recordings that allow listeners to be fully immersed in the emotional experience—free from awareness of speakers, microphones, editing, or mixing. His personal studio is a fully equipped immersive mixing space with a hybrid analogue/digital workflow.
Janet Grab (music editor)
A classically trained musician and sound engineer, Janet Grab has amassed an impressive list of music editing credits featuring some of the biggest names in film. Highlights include Wonka (nominated for an MPSE Golden Reel: Outstanding in Achievement in Music Editing - Feature Motion Picture), The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim (Supervising Music Editor), Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, Black Bag, and Ultraman Rising.
Her portfolio, spanning a wide range of genres and musical styles, demonstrates a deep understanding of complex long-term workflows, and the ability to adapt to meet the artistic and technical demands of each production.
Janet’s expertise in music production was honed at ECM Records under legendary producer Manfred Eicher and has led to invitations as a guest lecturer at the Royal Academy of Music and as a speaker at international industry events. As a violinist and violist, Janet trained under Wilfried Strehle at the Berlin University of the Arts, and has performed in some of the world’s most renowned concert halls.
Alana Janssen (music editor)
With a passion for the seamless fusion of music and sound, Alana Janssen is a diligent music editor whose expertise spans the intricate world of international feature films. Having worked across multiple sound and music editorial departments, she brings a refined sensitivity to storytelling, sculpting sonic landscapes that enhance emotion, rhythm, and narrative depth.
Alana thrives in both the technical and artistic nuances of her craft, approaching each project with precision, adaptability, and unwavering dedication. Her keen ear and meticulous attention to detail allow her to shape musical and sonic elements with precision, ensuring that music seamlessly integrates into the broader sonic tapestry of a film. Her recent projects include Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim, Dune: Part Two, and Avatar: The Way Of Water.
